Samsung has launched Galaxy J2, the successor of quite successful low-mid ranger Galaxy J2 (2017). The new Samsung device comes with a price tag of 8,190 INR. The highlight of the launch is new Samsung Mall app which comes preloaded with the phone and is intended to change the way people search and shop products online. According to Samsung India, Mall app is a revolutionary service which lets users buy online by clicking a picture of the desired product. The app uses AI to automatically fetch result for the clicked item across various online e-commerce platforms.
Coming to the configuration, the new Samsung Galaxy J2 is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM with 16 GB internal memory. The users can increase the memory with the help of external microSD card up to 256 GB. The device features a 5-inch qHD (960×540 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and not on the latest offering by the Google Android Oreo. This might be a setback for few users. Other than this, the device has 8MP Rear Camera + 5MP Front Camera with LED flash on both front and rear. A 2,600mAh battery powers the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018). Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Galaxy J2 2018 will be available in Gold, Black and Pink color from April 27th. If you are planning to buy this new Samsung device, then there is good news for you. Samsung Galaxy J2 2018 customers on Jio would be entitled to get a first-of-its-kind instant cashback of Rs.2750 in their MyJio account on recharging with Rs 198 or Rs 299 plan. Additional to this, they would also get an extra 10GB of 4G data on every recharge for the next ten recharges, giving them the freedom to enjoy streaming cricket, music or video and much more.
According to Sumit Walia, Director, Mobile business, Samsung India – “Galaxy J2 2018 reiterates Samsung’s commitment towards meaningful innovations that delight our customers. For this device, we focussed on two trends amongst Indian youth – the growth of online shopping and high usage of Social media platforms. Samsung Mall uses artificial intelligence to revolutionize the way customers shop online with a visual search. For avid social media users, Samsung’s proprietary ‘Move to Memory Card’ feature is an advanced memory management solution that de-clutters the internal memory, thereby enhancing the smartphone experience.”
